phoenix“In the image of Jesus, the beloved Son ‘whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world’ (Jn 10:36), those whom God calls to follow him are also consecrated and sent into the world to imitate his example and to continue his mission.”
- Consecrated Life, Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation of the Holy Father John Paul II (1996).  Boston:  Pauline Books and Media.

The Society of Sisters for the Church was founded in 1976, in Paterson, New Jersey by Sister Eileen Kelly, PVBM, who at that time was Vicar for Religious of the Diocese of Paterson. The community was a response to the interest of a number of religious women who were leaving traditional communities, but wanted to continue to live a vowed life fashioned on the example of the women of the early Church.

We witness to the presence of Christ and we bring the Good News of the Gospel to all people according to the signs of the times.  We live in a simple manner, but do not live a common life.  We are supported in our dedication by one another and the people we serve.
